Sunset in Glamis!
Happy Rainy Thursday!! The rain is falling once again...as this is third weather system this week..suppose to be the biggest rain fall that we have had in awhile! We sure need it...and so far, it has been a very long time since we have seen rain like this..so bring it on!!
The month is quickly getting away from us! We have had a busy start to the new year!! The weekend of January 8, we went camping out to Glamis...had a great time, with family and friends out there. The weather was absolutely perfect..super nice and sunny during the day, and cool at night, perfect to sit around the fire and have Smores!! The kids totally love riding their quads and just hanging out in the sand! We all made it back safe and sound...however Mike's truck started to lose some power on the way home, luckily we only had about an hour left on the drive..made it home with no problems. Turned out he had to get a new alternator..thank god we did not get stuck at the dunes!!
On January 11, Siena cut her finger while cutting a block of cheese! We thought she would need stiches, but after a trip to Urgent care, they only treated it, but using Glue...go figure!! She was in a lot of pain, and very upset about it...she had to keep it bandaged and use a splint, but as of today, it is healing quite nicely!!
The next day...January 12...will be a day no one will forget anytime soon. The 7.0 Earthquake in Haiti! So devasting..I could not stop watching as stories unfolded, day after day. I felt very touched and wished I had the ability to be there and help anyone I could, especially the children! Our church, has helped build a church in Value Haiti, which we found out later, was destroyed. My husband and our neighbor are very interested in going over there to help re-build, with the help of our church. Will keep you posted on that project. This past weekend was very emotional at our church, as it was all about WHY? and what to do next for the people of Haiti. I so very touched and really felt God's presence, I was very overwhelmed..we had a stage full of shoes, that people took off right there, and walked out barefoot..it was awesome...and I was one that walked out without shoes..what a great feeling that was!!
January 16, our sweet middle child, that cut her finger (LOL), turned 12. Can't believe she is growing up so fast! She is turning into a very lovely lady! The weekend of her birthday, she went with our church, with the Middle Schoolers, to a GO Mission trip, to Prescott, AZ. She had an amazing experience, while helping clean up a Salvation Army, feeding the homeless and giving them blankets! It was a birthday, she will not soon forget!
The rain continues to fall, and the streets are getting flooded! Let's pray that everyone stays safe out there!!
